We recently posted a new book review on Sell With A Story, written by Paul Smith who is also the author of Lead With A Story.

Smith does a great job of walking through the key elements of a powerful story and explaining why stories have such great impact.

As a leader you can leverage story telling in many ways, such as:

Inspire and motive employees to overcome challenges
Obtain buy-in on key objectives
Provide clarity on expectations
Encourage stronger relationships
Support memory retention on key messages
Add fun, creativity and humor to a presentation
Give the leader an opportunity to be original

It's probably safe to say that you've heard the old expression "I'll believe that when pigs fly.", but have you ever heard someone say, "I'll believe that when pigs swim?"

Perhaps there's a good reason! In Sell With A Story, Smith tells a personal story about how he first learned of Pig Island, where a large number of pigs really do swim.

When Smith heard the story for the first time, it was the main reason he changed his mind and purchased a very unique piece of art.
