I have to say that one of the best thing I ever did to help me in my leadership and career development was to adopt several mentors.
Let me explain what I mean my "adopt". You see each of the mentors I adopted have absolutely no idea who I am. They are not aware of the fact they have had such a positive influence on my life.
In fact, a few of my adopted mentors were deceased even before I chose them. How can this be?
It's simple. A mentor is simply someone who you admire, respect and can learn from. All of the great thinkers throughout history are "available" free of charge to become your mentor.
People like Orison Swett Marden, Napoleon Hill, Abraham Lincoln and countless others led amazing lives and demonstrated tremendous leadership skills.
Fortunately, your local library has a large selection of books, tapes and dvd's that you can leverage to overcome your learning curve.
I encourage everyone to identify and adopt your next great mentor!
All the best,
Henry Hale
